A Recap of the last Six Weeks in Digital Technology
For the last six weeks, we have had two periods of DTE1 every week, in which we have created websites and infographics, studied ergonomics and cybersafety, and created artifacts to leave on the web.

Week One
For week one, we structured, designed and set up a personal website for us to archive our work on the following weeks. While it is not published yet, I have titled the site "Greg's Gas Station Burger Joint," and have structured the header and home page about it.
During week two, we learned about and studied ergonomics. I decided to create an infographic about the ergonomics of typing, as typing is a skill becoming more and more useful in a growing and evolving digital world. Incorrect typing posture can be detrimental to a person's health, and I find it important to make sure everyone is educated on why good typing posture is important.
Week Three: Let's Go Phishing!
There were 4 levels,
Kind Kingdom,
Kind Kingdom was about spreading kindness to victims of cyber-bullying, by spreading kind words and liking their posts.
Reality River,
Reality River was about phishing attempts, scam attempts, and how to avoid them/stay safe around them.
Mindful Mountain,
Mindful Mountain is about being mindful of who you share your posts and information to.
Tower of Treasure,
Tower of Treasure is about keeping your information to yourself, using strong passwords e.t.c.
I had already played Interland, in Year Eight, though it was nice to have a recap and a refresher on some of the most important values and practices of being cyber smart.
Week Four: Digital Citizenship, Global Change for Good, and Cybersmart.
During week four, we spent our time exploring the Maniakalaani Cybersmart website, exploring what it means to be a Cyber-Citizen. I decided to structure my infographic with a series of summaries of each webpage, to show what the website has to offer. I included an image that related to the webpage and tried to make it as easy-to-read as possible. The point of an infographic is that it's supposed to display information in an easy-to-read format, and yet many infographics prioritize interesting looks over important information and user-experience. (U-X.)I like having creative freedom over my work, and Digital Technology gives me the freedom I need to produce high-quality work that I am passionate about.
I can't wait for the robotics section of this course, and hope that you will take it too.
