For the first week of term 1 we were tasked with creating our very own google site. I had already created a google site last year so I was able to just re-used that one, and cleaned it up.
Our first topic of the term was Games & Applications. The first thing we did for this topic was research the design process, and create a poster that explained each step. We then had to make a decision about whether or not our assessment would focus on using the design process to plan out a videogame, or if we instead created an animation on scratch. I chose to do my assessment on scratch.
First, I had to create an animation of a skier going down a slope. Then I had to create an animation of a skateboarder going up a ramp. I couldn't finish my skateboard animation because of lockdown, and so I instead finished my assessment by creating my own videogame.
Term 2
Term 2 had an awkward start because of lockdown. The focus of term 2 was to get into groups and create an application that fixed a problem we found in our area. Our group consisted of Aron, Caleb, and myself.
Once we had brainstormed possible ideas for our app, we had to create an app. We reserached themes, logos, app layouts, and functions, and then applied them in an application. Along the way, we had to write a log about what we learnt, added, and changed in a slideshow.
My Thoughts
I enjoyed DTE and thought that the topics were interesting. I liked working on my scratch assessment, and had lockdown not occured, I would have finished it.
