Self Directed Learner Matrix
This week I will continue to know what skills I need to develop so I can learn. I can do this by:
- Acknolwedging my shortcomings,
- Asking for feedback on my work,
- Finishing work to the best of my ability.
Korfball
Did you like Korfball?
I don't like Korfball. I don't like korfball because you can't run with the ball.
Did you work well with the people in your group?
I think I did well with my group, because I had lots of friends in my group so we could communicate easier.
Do you think it went well?
I think it went well. Our teams were fair, and everybody played to the best of their abilities.
What could have been better?
We could've made korfball better by letting us run with the ball.
Is there anything that you would add to make the teaching better?
Definitely better refereeing.

Random vs Patterns
This week in maths we have been learning about Patterns. We learnt that patterns are predictable sequences, whereas randomness are unpredictable sequences.
Pop Song Lyrics
I read the book "Pop Song Lyrics!" by Dona Herweck Rice. This is what I learnt:
The first pop song was "Summer Is Icumen In," which was performed by minstrels. A lot of pop songs lose their popoularity once they are overplayed. Scientists have found that music listeners like pop because it sounds happy.
Lyrics are very important in a song. Pop songs often have simple lyrics, acquainted to that of a 4th grader. Memorable lyrics are catchy and often rhyme, an its good to keep your lyrics simple. Its also good to express emotion in your lyrics, and to tell a story. Most stories are often about love and heartbreak. It takes time to write lyrics, and its important to think them through.
Pop songs are happy sounding songs that tell stories through memorable, catchy lyrics.

Child Soldiers
In Social Studies we had to do a research project about either Child Soldiers, Child Slavery, or Child Trafficking. I created a slideshow about Child Soldiers. I researched all three topics a little bit before I picked Child Soldiers, which I then researched a lot. I then created this cool presentation about Child Soldiers. I hope you like it. My mate Dylan thinks it is cool and very knowledgable.

Canoeing Gone Wrong!
Believing it was a good idea the Romans and a builder decided to go canoeing. Unfortunately ,the river they were canoeing on led to a waterfall. They screamed as they plummeted to their demise. Luckily, the builder used his emergency phone mid-air to call for help.
The rescue team got in the helicopter to go save them. The helicopter helped everybody out of the water one by one. The Romans were too heavy because of all their armor. Deciding that they were too heavy, the team could not save the Romans, only a few Romans and the builder.

The Hunter Swoop
It was a cold day in Argentina. Grey skies flood over the sun's distant rays, leaving but a feint white luminance to drown out the colours of the world below. The summits of snow-white mountains, censored by the all-seing mist of the clouds above. With no sun to clear it, the lone desert paved with a thin layer of frost. A lone road, leading to nowhere, continued its eternal wait for its next patron.

Pillars of towering oak, once providing a lavish green landscape, withered away with age. The forest, unliving, stared down at me with harsh gazes. The mist's reflection bounced off of the dark, murky waters below. There was no life for miles, what a terrible place to go camping.
